We live in a predominately disfunctional culture, a socially broken culture. Babyboomers, especially, are survivors of broken relationships of one type, or another. We are also a very selfish culture. Why all the above ? I believe it’s a result of a distrust of one another. Many people who live alone are lonely, but they fear that the alternative could be much worse. Also, women used to have to depend on men for support of one kind, or another. Women don’t anymore. Men, such as myself, can be included in much of the above. But, we too have become more selfish and refuse to put up with the crap anymore. We are, finally, truly free !
